Bars and pubs , Wine bars Bankside. Time Out says. On doing so I was informed that this information was false and because I didn't get anyones name I had no grounds. In fact it was almost insinuated that I was making the whole thing up and on asking to speak to someone higher as the madam on the telephone was getting rather rude the supervisor was no more pleasant.
She in fact reiterated what her staff member had said which was 'Most people use up all their vouchers', I explained again that we had quite a substantial package bought for us not chosen by us and it was far too much.
Who knows, on their website they say they promote responsible drinking yet sell packages that have far too many drinks and variations of drinks for any one person to enjoy comfortably in the 3 hours it says you would ordinarily be there. The whole thing was a disappointment.
Some of the rooms are better than others but the room with the premium wines is a dark sparse gallery type room with occasional transparent perspex furniture brilliant idea to supply plastic - comfy, transparent - helpful when under the influence, furnitiure in a dimly lit area.
I found myself very bored, as other ppl have described there are a real lack of signs for direction, we had no idea what size the place was and thought the gallery type room was as far as it went and so you can imagine we got very bored standing as not enough chairs in a dark room with no natural light for over 2 hours. My only options apparently is to pay again to enter to use up these left over vouchers or complain using an email address supplied to me by the moody supervisor who said herself it goes through to her but she will pass it on to the necessary department?
Not so sure I believe that We were bought a visit to Vinopolis and it really was not what we were expecting. We had a super welcome from Andrew and then a great introduction to wine tasting by Karen.
We're both in the education and training area and were mightily impressed with her delivery and knowledge. In fact every member of staff we came across was equally knowledgeable and enthusiastic - you really do London Tour attractions proud.
Try as many wines as you can but do pace yourselves and use the water fountains. We'd also strongly recommend the cheese plate of tapas as it complemented the wines beautifully.
